Hiebeler's Chinese Stories
The first two items are two stories I wrote in Chinese, and then later published in
the children's magazine "Xiao3 Peng2 You"
(《小朋友》杂志) in mainland
China.
("Xiao3 Hou2 Zi3 Li4 Xian3 Ji4", "The Little Monkey's
Adventure"),
which was published in
("Xiao3 Peng2 You"),
September 1996. It is a fairy tale. You can go see
pictures of the story from the actual magazine (which was
edited slightly). Or,
the original version of the story is also available in the following
Chinese-encoding formats:
It's also available in PDF in the following styles:
and in PostScript:
If you are learning Chinese, here is a vocabulary list (in
GB format only, sorry) for the story. It contains pretty much
any word in the story which is beyond first-year level Chinese.
("Lu4 Wei4 Shen2 Me Ta4 Di4?", "Why Did The Deer Stomp His
Peng You"), June 1998 under the title
"雄鹿踏地" ("Xiong2 Lu4 Ta4 Di4"). This
is a true story. Again, there are
pictures of the magazine containing the story (which
unfortunately was edited quite a bit). My original version of
the story is here in the following formats:

- I've also published a couple of essays in 2005 (one of them in 新民晚报
(Xin1 Min2 Wan3 Bao4), a well-known newspaper in Shanghai), which
I'll add to this page later on.
